NEW! 20k fertility coverage added to both Cigna plans | We will be moving our $20k lifetime maximum fertility coverage to our Cigna plans in 2024. Services include: • IUI, IVF, GIFT, ZIFT • Infertility drugs, testing, treatment • Short-term fertility preservation, preimplantation genetic testing, and more This change provides you with in-network resources, is tax-advantageous, and will simplify your fertility experience. |
S.A.F.E Journey wallet eligibility changes | The S.A.F.E Journey wallet will be limited to adoption, surrogacy, and long-term egg, sperm, and embryo storage expenses in 2024. This wallet will remain a $20k lifetime maximum and will continue to be taxed. IMPORTANT: Kaiser HMO will not have fertility coverage added, so if you are seeking fertility coverage outside of the new S.A.F.E. Journey parameters, please consider moving to a Cigna plan in 2024. |
Increase to the Lifestyle wallet and sunsetting the Food wallet | In 2024, you will receive $450/month in your Lifestyle wallet. As a result, we will no longer offer the Food wallet. We hope that this change will provide increased flexibility for you and your family. There will be no eligibility or cap changes to the Lifestyle wallet. |

Medical Plan Options
Depending on location, Affirmers have access to up to three medical plan options. Each plan offers comprehensive and cost-effective medical coverage. While there’s no “best” plan, there may be a best plan for you and your family. Review the details below to learn more.
Cigna OAP
The Cigna OAP medical plan features copays for common services such as primary care or specialty visits with no deductible required. For other services such as eligible inpatient and outpatient care, you’ll pay coinsurance after you satisfy your deductible up to the out-of-pocket maximum. This plan also includes transgender health services.
We will be moving our $20k lifetime maximum fertility coverage to our Cigna plans in 2024.
Cigna OAPIN
The Cigna OAPIN medical plan features copays for most services with no deductible to satisfy before the plan pays for eligible services. The OAPIN does not include out-of-network coverage.
We will be moving our $20k lifetime maximum fertility coverage to our Cigna plans in 2024.
Kaiser HMO
The Kaiser HMO medical plan features copays for most services with no deductible to satisfy before the plan pays for eligible services. The HMO does not include out-of-network coverage, so you’ll need to coordinate your care with a Primary Care Physician (PCP).
Kaiser is only available to California residents.
IMPORTANT: Kaiser HMO will not have fertility coverage added, so if you are seeing fertility coverage outside of the new S.A.F.E. Journey parameters, please consider moving to a Cigna plan in 2024.Â
